Opening Preview of Choices of Consequence: Denmark and the Holocaust

In Nazi-occupied Europe during WWII, Denmark was an exception. The courage and humanity that incited ordinary people to extraordinary actions saved 95% of Danish Jews. The photo series ‘Resistance and Rescue’ by Judy Glickman Lauder, artifacts and personal accounts, tell this story of allyship.

Designed to highlight the choices available to governments to be upstanders in the face of prejudice and discrimination, this exhibit demonstrates the importance of governmental policy in the protection of its people. Additionally, it spotlights a history of allyship and advocacy for the Jewish people by non-Jews, and explores the power of photography to record and reveal historical truths.
